More Nindies More Nintendo Time
Article from our gaming website Indies Planet
Today Nintendo had their Nindies Showcase for Spring 2018 and it was filled with a bunch of games that will surely top the Nintendo Switch’s eShop chart. Nindies were the surprise hit for the first year of the Switch as the Switch became the brand new home for indie titles to flourish. One year on we can look back and safely say it was a fantastic year for indie games on the Switch. From what we saw in the showcase it looks like this year will be good as well. Here’s a list of every game shown off in the Nindies Showcase for Spring 2018:
- The Messenger (Summer 2018)
- Garage (Spring 2018)
- Lumines Remastered (Spring 2018)
- Pode (Spring 2018)
- Light Fall (Timed Console Exclusive, Spring 2018)
- Banner Saga 3 (Summer 2018) + Banner Saga 1 & 2 (Soon)
- Reigns: King & Queens (Spring 2018)
- Fantasy Strike (Summer 2018)
- Just Shapes & Beats (Summer 2018)
- Pool Panic (First on Switch, 2018)
- Mark of the Ninja Remastered (Fall 2018)
- Bomb Chicken (Summer 2018)
- West of Loathing (Exclusive, Spring 2018)
- Bad North (Summer 2018)
It doesn’t feel like as many games as there was last time around but there are a few there that are very exciting. It’ll be interesting to see what other Nindies games come out around these main Nindies games as there is no stand out exclusives like Golf Story or Floor Kids in this showcase, instead, most games are coming out on other platforms.
For now, I’m excited mostly for Bad North and Lumines Remastered. Bad North looks like a really well designed real-time strategy game and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Lumines Remastered is, well its Lumines which is weird to see but also cool that more people will get to play it. It’ll also be out on PS4, which it should be because I would’ve thought it would be a small PS4 exclusive.
