It Was A Crime of Passion
(Spoilers for this episode and last episode)
Last week on Riverdale we had Fred Andrews going through a flashback experience worthy of a death but then he didn’t die, the only person who died was Ms Grundy. Now we have brooding Archie Andrews protecting his house like he’s Batman waiting for the Joker to strike Gotham City, we’re no closer to learning who the killer is but we’re getting some clues that I hope aren’t too obvious.
This week’s Riverdale involves Archie having one hell of a flashback whilst the pussycats sing a cover of Milkshake by Kelis, just a weird scene all together. Less hilarious scenes in this episode involve the return of Reggie as he is now the guy at school, in Riverdale, who supplys drugs and much more and more information on the serpents and FP’s new up to no good lawyer, these moments are where this episode’s clues come from.
As you can see just everywhere on Facebook and Twitter it’s this person looks like the killer. I’m hoping that it doesn’t end up just simply being as easy as that because at the moment it’s an even battle between Betty’s Dad, Sherif Keller and the newly introduced serpent Tall Boy, I just realised he’s only caked Tall Boy and that’s weird. All three are obvious candidates because they all have the same build as the killer but I’m hoping that the writing is better than that and not like other CW shows where it’s easy to see who it is.
My current theory is a theory from the film Scream 2 where, and spoilers, the killer is working with another student so that the student can tell the killer where every victim is all the time. The student in this sense would be Reggie and then the killer would be one of the previously mentioned buff men from Riverdale. The joke of Reggie wearing the mask is a very Scream thing to do and plays it right in your face but really the killer is not him but he is involved. We’ll find out more next week when Archie probably acts stupid with a gun because he’s a mad teenager.
